The Joint Venture Trust was founded in 2008 by Edwin Dillon, Susan Böhler and Adele de Villiers. It is a non-profit trust and a registered public benefit organization (PBO). The entity comprises a collaboration of professionals with a shared vision of being of service to indigent South Africans.

Edwin Dillon completed his medical degree at Stellenbosch University in 1997. After completing his internship and community service he worked as a medical officer at Conradie Hospital and GF Jooste Hospital for 19 months before commencing his registrar training in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tygerberg Hospital. In 2006 he completed his MMed in Orthopaedic Surgery (cum laude) and the FC ORTHO (SA) examination.

Dr Marx completed his medical degree at Stellenbosch University in 1996. After completing his internship, he worked as a junior medical officer (surgery and urology) at Livingstone Hospital and Port Elizabeth Provincial Hospital. During 1999 and 2000 he worked as a resident medical officer in the United Kingdom.

Dave Pollock completed his medical degree at the University of Cape Town in 1970. He was awarded a Fellowship from the College of Surgeons of South Africa with Orthopaedics in 1980.

He practiced in South Africa as an Orthopaedic Surgeon from 1980 to the present, with a special interest in Arthritis Surgery. He served as Chairman of the Western Cape Branch of Orthopaedics and was a founder and Exective member of the South Africa Knee and Arthroscopy Society. He was Doctors Representative on the Claremont Hospital Board.

In 1978, Bertie obtained his Masters in Commerce and joined the Old Mutual Investments Division (now OMIGSA). In 1989 he transferred to Employee Benefits, where he became Senior Regional Manager. He then relocated to Boston, Massachusetts in 1995, to establish Old Mutual’s business in the USA.

He has more than 25 years of consulting experience with some of the largest advertisers in the world and has assisted these companies with innovative solutions that improve the effectiveness of their marketing investment, drive enterprise-wide cost savings and ensure good governance of these complex functions.

Chardri Dillon

Chardri Dillon completed her B. Occupational Therapy degree in 1995 from the University of Stellenbosch. She specialised in paediatric Occupational Therapy and worked in private practice in 1996 and 1997. Thereafter she joined Tafelberg Remedial School for 2 years working with children with learning disabilies and ADHD. She re- entered private practice in 2000 in the Durbanville area. From 2005 she was a student supervisor at the University of Stellenbosch for 2 years.
